Undergraduate accounting students may sign up for a "3-plus-2" program in which they can receive both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in five years. Those with degrees from other universities who need to fulfill prerequisites can earn the MSA in 1 1/2 to 2 years. Applications are accepted now. On April 25, 2009 two CBPA teams competed in the 13th annual Information Technology Competition hosted by Cal Poly Pomona. The teams, sponsored by CBPA's Information Assurance and Security Management Center, competed in Business Systems Analysis and Computer Forensics. This advanced skills competition featured competitors from the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County and was judged by professionals from industry. CBPA's Systems Analysis team won first place for their case design for a fictitious Satellite provider requiring a project management solution. The team was required to document and communicate the business needs of clients into an effective enterprise solution. The teams used skills in finance, accounting, marketing, and information technology to put together a winning package. “These types of competitions are a great experience and give us the ability to apply what we have learned in a real world environment,” stated Michelle Behne, President of the INFOSEC club and member of the winning team. Great job, team! |

| What lies ahead with BUDGET and ENROLLMENT? Enrollment in the College of Business & Public Administration continues to rise. In Fall 2007, we had 3,362 majors compared to 2,531 in Fall 2000 -- a 32.8% increase. 2009-10 enrollment, however, will be kept within 102% of this current year's enrollment. Even if demand is higher, we will adhere to enrollment that corresponds to the maximum level of funding that will be given by the State. If propositions on the May 19 special election ballot do not pass, further State cuts will be forthcoming, and enrollment levels at which we can maintain quality education will again be a critical point of discussion. | ![]() |
