The Business Alliance is a strategic alliance to help
bring CBPA to its next level of excellent because of the relationships
established
with the leadership in our community. It is the link between the Inland Empire's
largest business school and managers or executives who are looking for ways to
enrich their organizations and improve their leadership skills. There are many benefits of membership,
including opportunities for networking with peers, attending quality conferences
and workshops, and enjoying quick access to the College's students and faculty.

The Dean's Executive Advisory Board is comprised of community leaders who
volunteer their time to help guide the strategic direction of the College of Business and Public
Administration. Additional details on the Advisory Board's structure and
purpose are provided here.
In March 2005, the College of Business and
Public Administration announced that Garth Richard (Dick) Zeigler was the
college’s first executive-in-residence. Since then, this has become
institutionalized and an important part of the community - college link. The objective of the Executive in
Residence Program is to enrich the learning
environment in the College of Business and Public Administration for both
undergraduate and graduate students. For more information on the program,

Learning Opportunities for Mid-Career Professionals
CBPA provides a variety of opportunities to extend your career and your business skills
with new certificates, seminars, and high-impact events. For example you could
enroll in a Finance Certificate Program
at the Palm Desert Campus or may you want to check out the new online MPA program in the Department of Public
Administration--our first entirely virtual graduate program offering the
ultimate in scheduling flexibility for those who might have governmental or
political aspirations.
There are also an
MBA program with an entrepreneurial
emphasis supposed by the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship
(IECE)
and a high-powered executive MBA program offered
periodically at different locations, with sessions typically held on Saturdays. Contact the departments

Research and Consulting Services at CBPA's Institutes and Business Centers
CBPA is proud to house research institutes and business centers that provide a
range of professional services to governments, communities, and individuals. Two
of the most active of these groups are the Inland Empire Center for
Entrepreneurship (IECE), which has received recent national ranking and awards
for its entrepreneurial programs, and the Institute of Applied Research and
Policy Analysis (IAR),
which completes a range of important research studies to inform the Inland
Empire community and other groups.

- The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship
The accomplishments of the college's Inland Empire Center for
Entrepreneurship (IECE). under Mike Stull's leadership, contribute
significantly to the college-community connection. At the same time, the
activities of the center foster an environment of innovation. Whether
inviting students and community to attend the Surado Distinguished
Entrepreneur Lecture Series, or to attend the annual Spirit of Entrepreneur
Awards Dinner that recognizes successful entrepreneurs, the Center fosters
creativity from the stories of determination and inventiveness of successful
entrepreneurs. IECE is introducing a student business plan competition to
help support the environment that fosters new ventures. It will be
rewarding to see some of those business plans result in ventures that are
launched in our area, and ultimately contribute to job growth. In
addition, the Inland Empire Women's Business Center, a program of the
Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, holds regular workshops on a
wide range of topics of interest to women business owners and
professionals. The cost for most workshops is about $25. Everyone is
welcome to attend.
