ScholarshipsShelby Obershaw at 2005 CBPA Awards Banquet with Scholarship Recipient for CBPA Students

At the Annual CBPA Awards Banquet, Shelby (shown in photo hugging a scholarship recipient) and Chuck Obershaw presented fourteen scholarships to CBPA students.  CBPA is grateful to donors such as the Obershaws for supporting our students.  Scholarships are named in Spring for students who are continuing at CSUSB the following quarter.   Except for the two scholarships shown below, one application (from the blue box to the right) serves as an application for all! For the same annual banquet, graduating students apply to receive awards of Outstanding Student in their concentrations.

Dean's Ambassador Scholarships - Sponsored by Stratham Homes

Over half of our incoming students transfer from a community college.  We have many scholarships for incoming freshmen and continuing students, but comparatively few for our incoming transfer students.  Therefore, a goal of the Dean has been to establish scholarships that cover all registration fees and are designed especially for outstanding students transferring in as a junior.

The link to the right leads to a description of eligibility for application and the application form itself for our Stratham Homes / College of Business and Public Administration Dean's Ambassador Scholarships -- two year scholarships at $3,500 per year.  Students who earn a 3.5 GPA in their first year at CBPA will have their scholarship automatically renewed for the second year without reapplication!

Bear in mind that CSUSB is a value in education, resulting in Dean's Ambassador Scholars having about $250/year left over after all registration fees are fully covered!  Dean's Ambassador Scholars will occasionally be asked to serve as an Ambassador for the College of Business and Public Administration by assisting in recruiting and representing the student body with executives in the community.

The deadline for applications to be received by the Dean is normally in April of the year that the students enter in the Fall quarter.   Please return to this site for 2007 postings.  The Dean communicates the outcome with applicants during April.  Applicants are encouraged to call (909) 537-5700 and speak with the Dean's Assistant to check on receipt of materials.

Spirit of the Entrepreneur Scholarships - Sponsored by IECE and The Press-Enterprise Co.

In an effort to support the entrepreneurial spirit at the collegiate level and contribute to the growth and development of future entrepreneurs of the region, the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at California State University San Bernardino and The Press-Enterprise Co. have created the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Scholarship Fund.

Each year, the fund, established with generous donations from the silent auction held at the Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards program, will provide scholarships to selected undergraduate or MBA students enrolled (or planning to enroll) in the study of entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino.

The Spirit of the Entrepreneur Scholarship is currently seeking applicants for the 2005 program – up to five (5) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students that are majoring in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate or graduate level. Applying for the scholarship is easy - all that is required is a one (1) page application and a one (1) page essay describing why an entrepreneurship education is important to you and how the scholarship will make a difference. This is not a needs-based scholarship.
