The mission of the Department of Management is to provide academically rigorous,state-of-the-art instruction in traditional, contemporary and emerging management theory, research and practice.

A Manager's Most Critical Responsibility
A manager's most critical responsibility is to function as a human being within a system of human beings, make decisions, create, lead and serve. In the contemporary organization, humans exist as part of a special relationship that is largely determined by the interplay of personal and organizational goals, whether within individuals, among and between small groups or departments, or throughout the organization as a whole.

The Wall Street Journal recognizes that as companies shrink, they look for generalists-managers with planning, communications and leadership skills-who see the big picture. These are among the skills taught in the management concentration, with specialty areas in general management, human resources, entrepreneurial, and international management.

Practical experience can be gained through our internship and small business consulting classes. We also offer an MBA in Management and Entrepreneurship.
