We strongly encourage prospective students to apply as early as possible, since it can take up to a month to process an application package after all the required documents have been received by CSUSB.

CSUSB’s MBA Program has received special permission to accept MBA applications from both domestic and international students for the winter 2010 quarter. Please apply before 11/2/09. Winter quarter classes begin January 11, 2010.
- Application Deadline winter quarter 2010-- Monday, November 2nd --all CSUMentor applications (electronic and paper) must be submitted.
- Document Completion Deadline winter quarter 2010 -- Monday, November 9th-- all documents required to complete the university and program admission files must be submitted. Documents include: transcripts, application fee, residency information, proof of citizenship (if required), statements of purpose, letters of recommendation, test scores, valid credentials, etc. This also includes Change of Program Applications submitted by active CSUSB students.

Admission Process
California State University San Bernardino operates
on a quarter system with three quarters per year.
Continuing students may attend our summer quarter.
The winter quarter begins in January, the spring
quarter begins in April and the fall quarter begins
in late September. The College of Business and Public
Administration admits students for all three quarters.
Admission is highly competitive so early submission
of your application is recommended.
GMAT
The GMAT exam is required for all applicants, unless
an applicant is qualified for ‘conditional
acceptance’ as discussed below. Submit an unofficial
copy of the GMAT with the admissions packet and have
the original sent directly from ETS. Test scores
may not be more than 5 years old at the time of submission
of application. The ETS institution code for CSUSB
is #3VQ-W2-05. More information regarding the GMAT
is available on the MBA homepage.
(GPA is based on the last 90 quarter (or 60 semester)
units and may include post-baccalaureate work.)
Submission of an acceptable Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT) score that meets all of the following conditions:
a) Minimum GMAT score of 470
b) Minimum GPA 2.5, GPA is based on the last 90 quarter
(60 semester) units and may include post- baccalaureate
work
c) (GPA x 200) + GMAT greater than or equal to 1,050
points.
An applicant may request a waiver of the GMAT upon
proof of completion of graduate work (e.g. J.D.,
Ph.D., M.D., etc.) from an accredited U.S. college
or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Conditional Acceptance
If an applicant has a submitted a passing official
TOEFL score (International students only) has a GPA
of at least a 3.0 (last 90 quarter units or last
60 semester units) and has at least 6 prerequisites
to complete he/she may be accepted into the MBA program
on a conditional basis. However the student cannot
attend 500- or 600-level MBA courses (except 503
courses) without first submitting a passing GMAT
score.
TOEFL
Students who have graduated from a university outside
of the United States, where the main language of the
institution was not English, must pass the TOEFL exam
with a computer based score of 213 or paper-based score
of 550 or 79 on the new Internet based exam. Students
who completed level 6 of CSUSB’s ESL Program or
score a 7.0 on the IELTS exam have also met the TOEFL
requirement. Submit an unofficial copy of the TOEFL or
IELTS with the admissions packet and have the original
sent directly from ETS. Test scores may not be more than
two years old at the time of submission of application.

Students can attend MBA Prerequisite classes while
attending ACLP/IEP Programs.
Letters of Recommendation, Resumes, and Personal Statements
Although not required, letters of recommendation from
professional references can enhance an application.
Letters of recommendation from employers or professional
colleagues are preferred and should be sent directly
from the recommender. Please do not submit more than
three letters. Resumes may also be submitted to support
an application. There is not a preferred format for
supplemental documents. All supplemental documents
should be submitted with your application.
Statement of Purpose
This statement should be entered directly on the space
provided on the graduate application at csumentor.edu.
The statement should be no more than 250 words in length.
It should state your reasons for pursuing a Master’s
degree in Business Administration, motivation, qualifications
and for choosing this University. It may comment on
any special honors or accomplishments you have achieved.
Admissions to the M.B.A. Program is
a two-step process
Step 1: Apply to the University
Applicants for the M.B.A. program must first qualify for admission
to the University by meeting the following requirements:
1. Have completed a four-year college course of study and
earned an acceptable baccalaureate degree at an institution
accredited by a regional accrediting association or have completed
equivalent academic preparation.
2. Have attained a grade-point average of at least 2.5 in the
last 60 semester units (90 quarter units) attempted and
3. Have been in good standing at the last college attended.
All prospective students need to submit a California State University
application for Post baccalaureate and Graduate Education along
with the graduate application fee of $55 online at CSU Mentor.
Your application will not be processed without the fee.

Complete Application includes:
1) Completed graduate application at csumentor.edu
2) Two sets of original and official transcripts of all previous
academic work attempted.
Applicants must submit two sets of official transcripts in
sealed envelopes from each issuing institution. Applicants
must also submit your official transcripts from every college
you have every attended and proof of your Bachelor's degree.
Applicants with international coursework must also submit all
official transcripts and proof of bachelor’s degree.
However, if certificates and transcripts are not in English,
they must be accompanied by certified English translations.
3) A copy of your GMAT Score Report (official copy requested
at the time of test; code 3VQ-W2-05)
4) Statement of purpose
5) Letters of Reference (optional; maximum of three)
6) International students must also submit a completed Affidavit
of Financial support form.
7) International students need to submit an official copy
of their TOEFL score (official copy requested at the time

8) We prefer you include a current email address on your
application.

Step 2: After University clearance
Once you have been cleared by the university, your complete
application package will be sent to the M.B.A. office for the
final acceptance step in the admissions process. You will be
notified by mail of acceptance or denial. Please note than it takes at least
one month to process applications after all required documents
have arrived at CSUSB. You will most likely not receive notice
of acceptance or denial to the program within the first
month.
Students who meet all entrance requirements except course prerequisites
may be admitted to the program in a conditionally classified
status until those prerequisite deficiencies are removed, at
which time they will be advanced to classified graduate standing
in the program. Only fully classified students, however, may
enroll in 600-level courses unless they have written consent
from the college graduate director.

M.B.A. Prerequisites
Students must earn a "C" or better in all prerequisite
courses, except a grade of "B" or better is required
in MGMT 306 Expository Writing for Administration.
Competence in the prerequisite courses listed below may be

A. Formal completion of the course at CSUSB or its equivalent
at another approved institution
B. Credit by examination
C. Waiver based on specialized work experience; must have documentation
of work directly related to course from your place of employment
on letterhead paper; a letter from yourself explaining how
you have the necessary skills and why you do not need the course;
