Spring Quarter Internship OrientationJust 1 hour graphic

Attend the next Internship Orientation scheduled for FRIDAY, APRIL 16TH AT 12:00PM, IN JB-109.  Remember, ALL students enrolled in a business 575 internship course must attend. If you're not yet enrolled but hope to enroll before this quarter's Census date (see below), plan on attending as well. There are no other class sessions for this course. See Intern Guidelines section for details.

There's a "Census" Date" each quarter. You MUST be enrolled in your classes by that date. Listing below is the quarterly deadlines.  However, be sure to check the class schedule for that quarter to confirm the "Census Date" so you don't miss out being enrolled in a 575 course.

FALL Qtr - Oct. 14th

  • For students enrolled in a business or entrepreneurial program, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Inland Empire chapter awards scholarships typically to high school graduates who have been away from school for several years and are now pursuing an undergraduate degree.  Finalist will be invited to attend our Scholarship Awards Banquet in April at NAWBO's expense.  Deadline is on Monday, March 1, 2010.  For more information go to IEWEF Scholarship Application;  IEWEF Scholarship CriteriaIEWEF Scholarship Letter, and  NAWBO and IEWEF Scholarship Information  

  • For students interested in the Automotive Aftermarket industry, the SEMA Scholarships are currently available.  Deadline is Friday, April 2, 2010.  For more information go to SEMA's Scholarship Application.
  • For students pursuing a career in Information Security, the CSUSB Scholarship For Service (SFS) Cyber Corps Program is now receiving applications. A new grant from the National Science Foundation is providing funding for up to the last two years of undergraduate or graduate education. There will be 10 positions open for Fall 2010 (deadline is April 15, 2010) and 10 more in Fall 2011.  The program provides:
     
    • Full Resident Tuition including books and a lodging allowance
    • $8000/year stipend for Undergrad (BS) and $12000/year stipend for Grad (MS/MBA)
    • Summer Internship with a Federal Agency

    Students selected for the scholarship are required to work (paid) for the Federal Government for up to 2 years upon graduation. In order to be eligible for the scholarship program, all students must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled in full-time coursework at CSUSB in Information Assurance & Security Management concentration (BS/MBA), Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.  For program details and applications visit the Information Assurance & Security Management (IASM) website on campus.

2010 Career Expo! 

This annual event is coordinated by the Career Development Office.  This year's Career Expo will be held on Tuesday, April 6th. Over a 100 companies attend to offer internships and job opportunities.  Be prepared, dress like you would for an interview, and take copies of your most recent resume.

CBPA VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance - WTR & SPR

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is a program sponsored by the IRS and Franchise tax Board (FTB). VITA Volunteers receive training, prepare, and electronically file income tax returns for low income, elderly, and disabled taxpayers, free of charge. At CSUSB, volunteers are enrolled in ACCT 595 in 4, 6 or 8 unit sections. A four unit internship section of VITA is also available. Time commitments vary by type of enrollment.

Inland Empire Women's Business Center

The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE) at CSUSB, in collaboration with the US Small Business Administration launched the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center (IEWBC) to meet the unique needs of women business owners in the IE.

CBPA Careeer Advising for Success Speakers Series

FREE EVENT  - All Business and Public Administration students are invited to attend!  The CBPA Undergraduate Advising Office, located in JB-134 hosts guest speakers from CSUSB and the community. Topics include: real estate, information security, marketing, management, and more.  Sessions are designed to provide you with detailed information about industry and business relations. They're usually held on Thursdays, 4-5pm in JB-140.

Leadership Academy Certificate Program - WTR & SPR

Leadership Academy is a free program open to all CSUSB students.  The Student Leadership and Development (SLD) office, located in SU-203, offers this certificate program.  This is an excellent opportunity to sharpen your leadership skills by participating in this program.  Students have found the experience enjoyable as well.  Also another item to add to your resume.

Coyote Careers Program

Grants are awarded to Hispanic-Serving Institutions to assist eligible Hispanic-serving institutions of higher education to expand their capacity to serve Hispanic and low-income students. Five-year development grants and one-year planning grants may be awarded.  These internship opportunities may pay $1,000 stipend.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU)

HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) program recruits college students for paid summer and semester-long internships at federal agencies and private corporations in Washington, D.C., and throughout the country. These ten and fifteen-week internship programs give college students direct experience in a myriad of careers in the federal and corporate sectors.

SEMA Internship and Scholarship Program

This program rewards the best and brightest students engaged in studies leading to a career in the automotive aftermarket or a related field. Awards start at $1,000, with $4,000 to the top student.  Annual deadline to apply for a SEMA Scholarship is usually in April.  However, check the SEMA Web site at to be sure of deadline date.

SEMA also has an outstanding, highly-competitive internship program with their annual trade show in Las Vegas.  Participation is by invitation only to selected universities who then recruit interns to attend and participate in the many aspects of the trade show, including assignments with vendors and buyers.  Recruitment usually starts the first of July.  Students selected will establish a timeline to complete all pre-event activities before attending the tradeshow in November, as well as completing post-event activities.  There is approximately 150 hours to complete for this internship oppotunity.

 

ESRI Summer Internship Program  

ESRI designs and develops the world's leading geographic information system (GIS) technology. GIS is an important tool—one that helps shape the world around us. ESRI accepts applications for their summer internship program usually during the month of February. Annual deadline is usually March 1st.
