FOR SEVEN STEPS TO SUCCESS!
Please remember to E-MAIL US once you've filled your position
so we can take down your announcement; also to provide us the
student's name and contact information. E-mail to Angie Webb
at abecerri@csusb.edu.
STARTING THE PROCESS - IT'S EASY!
Check the FAQs to view the Quarterly Schedule to Post Internships.
STEP ONE: Preliminary Agreement Letter Form in PDF or Preliminary Agreement Letter Form [Word] for intern hosts; complete and sign (your typed name in the signature box will be accepted as your signature).
STEP TWO: Sample Internship Flyer [Word]. This form is in a Word document which is needed to permit us to easily cut and paste into our website. Simply replace the information with yours to develop your internship opportunity.
STEP THREE: Return the above completed forms to Angie Webb at abecerri@csusb.edu. We'll print copies of your flyer to have available for students. We'll also post your internship opportunity on this website, and send out an email announcement to our students.
NEXT: INTERVIEWS, SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
STEP FOUR: As you receive student responses with their resumes and cover letters, contact them directly to schedule an interview.
STEP FIVE: Once you've made your selection, e-mail Angie Webb at abecerri@csusb.edu with the name of the student, their phone number and e-mail address. Direct students to contact our office for their next step.
THE INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE: BEGINNING TO END
STEP SIX: The selected student is to notify the CBPA Internship Office, and follow the procedures to be enrolled in a 575 internship course. There are some forms required with the internship course, including a few for you as the supervisor to complete (two needed at the beginning, and one at the end of the project). Your intern will provide you with these forms, as well as turn them in to us.
You can then discuss a start date with your intern (keeping in mind the quarter start date). It's also important that you provide an orientation meeting with your intern, as well as an overview of their agreed upon schedule and their assignments. Also conduct a brief verbal review mid-way through the internship period to let the intern know how they're doing.
STEP SEVEN: During the 8th week, the student will remind you to complete the supervisor's evaluation to have ready by the 9th week. Also, meet briefly with your intern to wrap up any project details by the end of the 10th week. That's it!
If you still have a question to any of the above information, you're welcomed to contact the CBPA Internship Office at 909/537-3581.
We wish both of you a great internship experience!
